I wear many hats and write from the perspectives of woman, mom, and when I am lucky, the self–irrespective of gender or roles. My words are infused with tender lessons, carefully collected from rural childhood, military officership, pediatric oncology nursing, and psychiatric medicine; a life of diligence in care alongside the joy and suffering of others. Aside from writing, I teach yoga, TRE®, and mindfulness, and consult with schools, families, and agencies to better understand how trauma and stress impact our youth, families, and communities. Sharing the experience of embodied self-regulation is my passion.
Here, I offer small gifts of gravity, levity, and the ordinary tension that lies between. We all have little human moments; I believe sharing them is important.
