The sun’s light hits us all at once, but sometimes we just aren’t sure.
We make our own bright.
We raise our own sparkle.
Just in case.
And we do burn brightly.
Right into our own tender little hearts.
Hardened hearts.
Command the light.
Climb.
Then we see her shining, and we see her shining, too, and even her.
We raise our sparkle, higher…so high we cast shade.
Faces in shadow.
But feel the light.
We’re more sure…not certain.
Higher.
Light, on our faces, affirms.
Breathe deeply, yes.
Look up.
It is not the sun.
It is the sparkle of another.
She climbs.
Look down.
Shade.
Climb.
You see?
There is enough light for us all.
Enough.
We sparkle.
Together.
