You don’t have to like me. I don’t have to like you.
You don’t have to think I’m smart, funny, or useful.
I don’t have to find you witty, entertaining, or competent.
I am an idiot, and you are an idiot, and we both have an entire life of experiences that would indicate neither of those statements are true.
We are both talking out of too much passion, too much fire, and too much nonsense, at a fast clip, and aren’t those moments so very unforgiving?
Here, let’s be honest. Black plus white equals grey. Red plus blue equals purple. None of us are grey. None of us are purple.
I don’t care about your things, and you don’t care about mine. But you know, once in a while, there’s a match. Let’s notice that.
That’s an opportunity to concede. Isn’t it confusing, when the other side likes one of our things?
No.
It’s just normal. Be you. But don’t try to make me be like you. It won’t work, and you’ll make me into a caricature of myself, and then I’ll make you into a little piece of a bad story.
It seems unnecessary, and maybe a little sad too.
United we stand, divided we fall.
It’s true.
