Mental wellness as a “construct.” Too big. For a lot of people, that bite is just too big. When you are buried, and burnt, there is no starting point. Some days.
What if we made it about honoring the humble beginnings, however painful that reality may be?
What if we broke it down, literally, into the tiniest of sips? Sip some water.
What if we broke it down, literally, into a celebration of the everyday mundane, and with the smallest efforts toward singular actions of commitment to ourselves, turned those into something extraordinary? Allow the ordinary to become…The Everyday Sacred.
A clean sink. Surrounded by garbage and chaos, dead beetles and dust.
A comb through the hair, whereby the feeling of the bristles against the scalp makes us feel one blissful moment.
Cold water, with steady breaths, on a weary face. Then wash that face.
One smile, one push up. Then let the smile pass. Let the body sink back into protection. Next time try two.
Keep adding…this is yours now.
