Self Love. Self Care. Not the same thing.
I mean, you can love yourself ’til you’re blue in the face, and yet, if you do not commit your time, money (usually at least a little bit), and conscious effort to actions, you will leave yourself in the dust.
Huh.
To be fair, you can also pour all the acts of self love known to man, right into an empty, loveless bucket, to be washed out to the sea. Goodbye money! Goodbye time! Goodbye conscious efforts, and man, you were the hardest to drum up.
Crap.
You see, first we must love ourselves.
Then, we must invest in ourselves.
And then, with our buckets full, and well-watered, fed, and rested–but maybe a little tired from laughing, crying, or singing so hard, THEN we can show up.
Show up for real.
And if you find this to be all too self-absorbed? Well, maybe you should consider how beautiful you look when you are full of all you need, or how you shine love and magic onto all you pass, or how you will have precious little time for the bullshit of others. And if you’ve really done it right, they will see how free of bullshit you are, and shine right back at you.
Self Love + Self Care = Magic.
