Did I mention that Riley told me I’m not mean enough the other day? Yes, my 7 1/2 year old daughter thinks that I am not mean enough.
First, I celebrate. I must be doing something right, because I’m pretty sure there is an awful lot of crying going on around here that has to do with me laying down the law. Yay for kids who enjoy their limits.
Next, I wonder. Is this because I haven’t asked her brother to give up his beloved pacifier yet? What does “mean” mean to her? What are we really talking about here?
Finally, I pause that line of questioning, and choose instead to revel in the fact that apparently, I have some meanness credits to cash in, and will now log off to rub my hands together and malevolently plot, and cackle.
